Photinia leaf spot disease is caused by a fungal pathogen. A member of the rose family red tip photinia is susceptible to multiple diseases that can cause dark spots to develop on leaves. The most common photinia is the appropriately named red tip which is easily recognized each spring as it sends out its first flush of bright red new leaves.
