Masses of pure white snowball like flower clusters make a showy display. Bright green leaves have a purplish red fall coloring. Snowball bushes make excellent informal hedges and border plants.

Viburnum x burkwoodii is a smaller type of viburnum 8 to 10 feet tall that inherited some of the wonderful smell of its parent korean spice viburnum. Prefer full sun but will tolerate light shaded areas. Snowball hydrangea shrubs grow 4 to 6 feet 1 2 to 1 8 m tall while the viburnums grow 6 to 10 feet 1 8 to 3 m tall.
